The concept of “patient centered care” can be fully implemented when we acknowledge the importance of maintaining “health worker centered working environment”. That will go a long way in improving quality of care.
I will add that improvement of work environment for workers in all sectors will lead to healthier productive communities. Maintaining incentives and equipping workers to do their jobs with passion requires policy and organizational leadership commitment. Organizations with better working environment lead to innovation and higher productivity while often, larger bureaucratic public sector organizations fail to meet their targets.
