Cervical cancer researchers from Ghana propose a colposcopic revision to the current IFCPC classification to better standardize the classification of Transformation Zone types, with huge implications for screening and treatment in low-resource settings. The new classification would reduce the risk of missed cervical cancers and suboptimal treatment resulting from ablating lesions that extend too far into the endocervical canal.
