The current UNICEF website notes:
UNICEF is working for Clean water, proper sanitation and good hygiene for every child. Part of this action is to 'empower people with information about hand-washing, menstrual hygiene and waste disposal. By developing infrastructure and understanding, were working to progressively improve WASH services around the world, so that children and their families can thrive.'
I would be interested to learn about national or local initiatives to empower people with information about hand-washing, menstrual hygiene and waste disposal. What works and what doesn't work? What is the role of community health workers and environmental health officers in different settings (such as urban/rural)?
