Thanks to Neil for the useful points about advertising in medical journals by commercial milk formula (CMF) companies. I'm replying in general terms and Hajime may respond specifically.
In relation to 'monitoring of the world's leading paediatric journals' - there is no body set up for this purpose nor indeed for monitoring the WHO International Code which restricts CMF marketing. This is one of the problems and why it is at present up to people like Hajime to tackle the sponsorship issues in their own country. Please can all CHIFA members follow his grand example? It can be done and there is support available.
In relation to Wiley, the same response applies and it is really up to journal readers to take this up with the company.
I'm sure a CHIFA project around sponsorship would be worthwhile, if there are volunteers to initiate this.
