EQUATOR Network's partnership with PAHO/WHO delivers a multilingual interface

3 February, 2023

I am submitting this news for the HIFA Network.

The partnership between The EQUATOR Network <https://www.equator-network.org/> and the Pan American Health Organization <https://www.paho.org/en> (PAHO/WHO) resulted in The EQUATOR Network's website becoming multilingual (EQUATOR Newsletter https://mailchi.mp/0e94d99c0772/the-equator-network-newsletter-january-2023). The EQUATOR Network is the leading repository of research reporting guidelines for health. PAHO is the specialized international health agency of the Inter-American System and the Regional Office for the Americas of the World Health Organization (WHO). Correspondence in The Lancet Global Health in 2019 <https://www.thelancet.com/journals/langlo/article/PIIS2214-109X(19)30257-8/fulltext> laid out the need to tap into new technologies to address the need for multilingualism. This will replace the earlier approach of supporting cumbersome website translations in Spanish and Portuguese. The new approach efficiently delivers real-time translations and works with more than 140 languages.
