Join the AfroPHC-MOOVE Initiative to Shape the Future of AI in African Healthcare
We are excited to announce the AfroPHC-MOOVE initiative, a project designed to test the safety, accuracy, and contextual relevance of AI chatbots for African Primary Health Care (PHC). We are thrilled that 54 clinicians from across Africa have already signed up to participate. This initiative, in collaboration with the Laboratory for Intelligent Global Health & Humanitarian Technologies (LiGHT) and the MOOVE platform, will evaluate large language models (LLMs) like Meditron to ensure they are effective tools for clinicians in diverse African settings.
Why You Should Join
This isn't just about testing AI — it’s about building your skills. By participating, you will receive practical training in the everyday use of AI through monthly webinars packed with tips, tricks, and real-world applications. Our goal is to help you make your clinical work smarter, faster, and safer.
How It Works
Your role is critical to the success of this project. As a participant, you will be asked to:
1. Submit Questions: Ask 25 realistic PHC questions that are relevant to your specific clinical setting.
2. Evaluate Responses: You will evaluate the AI-generated responses to your questions and also review two questions submitted by colleagues. This will amount to a total of 75 evaluations.
3. Strengthen the Data: The more participants we recruit, the stronger our data becomes across different regions, languages, and types of clinicians.
More participants also means that each person may need to submit fewer questions in the future. We encourage you to recruit locally to ensure the data reflects your country’s realities.
