FAQ/Decision tree: Breastfeeding and COVID

1 May, 2020

CHIFA colleagues may be interested to know that WHO has recently published "Frequently Asked Questions and decision tree (FAQ) for Health Workers on Breastfeeding and COVID". This reflects the interim guidance published by WHO on 13 March 2020; it also draws upon other WHO recommendations on infant and young child feeding and also mother/infant skin-to-skin contact.

The web story and FAQ/Decision tree are available at: https://www.who.int/news-room/detail/28-04-2020-new-faqs-address-healthc...

The FAQ/Decision tree is also available at: https://www.who.int/docs/default-source/maternal-health/faqs-breastfeedi...

There is also a link from the Q&A for the general population. https://www.who.int/news-room/q-a-detail/q-a-on-covid-19-and-breastfeeding

The FAQ/Decision tree will be translated into Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian and Spanish - hopefully completed by early next week.

WHO guidance on COVID is regularly reviewed as more evidence is released. The FAQ will be updated in the event of any revisions.

Best wishes
