Dear All,
I hope this message finds you well. I'm truly inspired by the incredible work your organisation is doing, it deeply resonates with me.
I had previously shared some suggestions via Donna’s email, and she has kindly encouraged me to forward my message directly to you all. So, this serves as a follow-up and introductory mail.
I am a Lecturer/researcher with the Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo in Benue State, Nigeria. My area of interest is Public Health Entomology and Parasitology, with a focus on malaria.
Looking forward to connecting further.

Subject: Re: [chifa] Help to create an accurate message for children about the malaria vaccine (2)
Good morning, Donna. Thanks for sharing.
I visited the website - https://www.hifa.org/projects/citizens-parents-and-children and was deeply impressed by the content, which resonates with me.
Unfortunately, I heard of another tragic incident just yesterday, I lost another baby last week due to complications arising from malaria. I know the young parents and the babies- a set of twins (lost the boy, we have the girl). This heartbreaking event underscores the critical importance of educating communities through access to accurate information and timely interventions, as emphasised on the website.
*A world where every citizen, parent and child will have access to the information and knowledge they need to prevent illness and injury, to recognise serious illness, to provide basic care, and to seek timely medical help.*
Additionally, I have an observation and some suggestions that I hope will be useful to the group:
"Malaria vaccines protect children from mosquito bites." While this phrase is engaging and conveys the intended message, it is important to note that malaria vaccines do not directly protect children from mosquito bites. Rather, they protect children from malaria, the disease transmitted by mosquito bites.
I have a couple of suggestions, 1-15:
numbers 1-8 keywords: Mosquito, malaria, child/ children vaccine;
numbers 9-14 keywords: Early years, malaria, vaccine, and
number 15 keywords: Anti-malaria, sickness, death, vaccines.
*The working group should please feel free to tweak them as they deem fit.*
1. Mosquito bites, **malaria kills children nearly every minute*, vaccinate to protect
2. Mosquito bites, malaria kills, vaccinate children, keep malaria away.
3. Mosquito bites, **malaria kills children nearly every minute*, vaccinate to save young lives.
4. Children, mosquito bites, malaria sickness and deaths - vaccines to the rescue.
5. Mosquito bites, malaria sickness and deaths, save the child-vaccinate to protect
6. Mosquito bites, malaria *begins*, save the child-vaccinate to protect
7. Mosquito bites, malaria *kills*, save the child-vaccinate to protect
8. Malaria kills. Vaccines protect. Safe childhood
9. Early years, stop malaria, start with the vaccine
10. Safe early years, say yes to the malaria vaccine
11. Yes, to malaria vaccine- safe early years
12. Early years, malaria no more- vaccine or Early years, vaccines, malaria no more
13. Mosquito bites, malaria-free early years, vaccinate or Mosquito bites, vaccinate, malaria-free early years
14. Mosquito bites, malaria-no more, vaccinate the child.
15. Anti-malaria vaccines, anti-sickness, anti-deaths-malaria free child.
