Dear HIFA colleagues,

I would like to share with you some interesting preliminary results from the data analysis of our survey and invite you to comment.

Q9. There should be more support for initiative that improve access to reliable healthcare information.

94% of those who responded to this question agree or strongly agree with the above statement

Q10. There should be higher standards of practice and ethics among information providers.

89% of those who responded to this question agree or strongly agree with the above statement

Q11. There should be more support for research on the availability and use of reliable healthcare information.

88% of those who responded to this question agree or strongly agree with the above statement

Q12. More should be done to ensure that health workers have access to reliable healthcare information.

93% of those who responded to this question agree or strongly agree with the above statement

Q13. More should be done to protect people from misinformation.

95% of those who responded to this question agree or strongly agree with the above statement

Q14. Governments should recognise their obligation to improve the availability and use of reliable healthcare information.

93% of those who responded to this question agree or strongly agree with the above statement

Q15. Governments should provide more support for WHO to 'extend to all peoples the benefits of medical, psychological and related knowledge' as described in the WHO Constitution.

81% of those who responded to this question agree or strongly agree with the above statement

Furthermore, for every question above, respondents overwhelmingly selected "strongly agree" in preference to simply "agree".

We encourage continued discussion and debate around the survey questions (and answers) here on HIFA. All inputs will be collated and summarised in the final report to be submitted to WHO by end of January 2024, informing WHO, HIFA and partners on next steps towards universal access to reliable healthcare information.
