How We Breathe

“I absolutely love the film, it really gives a great insight into the lungs and will be so helpful for people new (and experienced) looking after lung health. I have shared it with my A&LUK colleagues as well.”

- Maggie Harris, Respiratory Nurse Specialist, Asthma & Lung UK and trainer

Last month we launched How We Breathe (https://www.ipcrg.org/howwebreathe), a short film that explains the mechanics of breathing, aiming to help patients breathe better, feel good and accomplish more in life. Sections of the film are now available separately, in shorter videos lasting 1-3 minutes that can be shared for specific purposes. Subtitles are now available in German, with Spanish and Portuguese subtitles coming soon.

Give us your feedback (https://forms.gle/CwX2tYxBgM4FLS2c7) ! It only takes a few minutes and will provide useful evaluation. Please share the film across your network and on (

Network Update

This month we have lots of news to share about some familiar faces in the IPCRG network.

Hilary Pinnock, who will be known to many as the previous chair of IPCRG's Education Sub-Committee, has been appointed as Education Committee chair for the European Respiratory Society.

Professor Dr Ping Yein Lee has joined IPCRG's Education Sub-Committee. Ping Yein is a Professor of Family Medicine and a Consultant Family Physician. She is currently an adjunct professor at the UMeHealth Unit at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Malaya and has a special interest in e-Learning and eHealth.

We also welcome Dermot Ryan and Cláudia Vicente to the IPCRG board. A GP with a long-term interest in asthma, Dermot was present at the founding meeting of IPCRG and served on the Senate and as a country representative for many years. Cláudia is a family physician, coordinator of GRESP, IPCRG liaison and responsible for Asthma Right Care/CAPA Portugal.

Finally, our colleague Sundeep Salvi has been elected president of the Indian Chest Society. Sundeep leads our group in India, the Pulmocare Research and Education (PURE) Foundation. He sits on the COPD Right Care Strategy Group and is currently leading work on this programme's Spirometry Simplified initiative.

Go to www.ipcrg.org (https://www.ipcrg.org/) to find out more about IPCRG, a charity working locally in primary care and collaborating globally to improve respiratory health so we can achieve our vision of a global population breathing and feeling well through universal access to right care.

With our best wishes,
