We have been working on weak evidence for too long and malnourished children (both with and without shock) are still getting the short end of the stick. I so hope to see simplified WHO guidelines at the next revision.

Natalie Prevatt is a paediatric registrar in London with diplomas in Tropical Medicine and hygiene and in paediatric Infectious Disease. She has worked in several African countries and was the clinical coordinator and trainer for the FEAST trial. She is currently the paediatric module lead for the EA diploma in Tropical Medicine and is developing the ETAT+ elearning package for the RCPCH.
