Dear Dr Pakenham-Walsh,

Thank you very much for your warm welcome and your interest in my work.

My role here focuses on creating and maintaining an environment that enables our healthcare staff to deliver safe, high-quality care. This includes:

• Overseeing clinical operations and ensuring adherence to standard operating procedures across departments, especially in maternal and child health. I am an OB/GYN by training, which informs my focus on improving maternal and child health services.

• Facilitating training and capacity building for medical, nursing, and allied health staff.

• Coordinating the development and implementation of digital health solutions, including telemedicine and online pharmacy services.

• Supporting hospital leadership in strategic planning, quality improvement, and patient safety initiatives.

• Bridging communication and information gaps between healthcare providers, patients, and the broader community.

In essence, my responsibility is to ensure that the necessary systems, processes, and resources are in place, allowing our clinicians to focus on delivering optimal care to patients, particularly in low-resource settings.

I look forward to contributing to discussions on HIFA regarding the role of hospital administrators in improving access to reliable healthcare information.

With warmest regards,

Suren
