I'm Nicolás, from Seville, Spain. I've just joined HIFA and wanted to introduce the project I work on.
PediBot (pedibot.xyz) is a free service where parents can ask about their child's health and get an answer built only from published guidance: health ministries, the WHO and paediatric societies. Every sentence shows the document it comes from, and when the documents don't cover a question it says so instead of guessing.
A few things it does that general chatbots don't:
it knows the emergency number for 90 countries, including all 54 in Africa, and shows it in red when a message describes a danger sign;
it carries 66 national vaccine schedules and WHO growth charts for 78 countries;
doses, danger signs and the MUAC tape are worked out by fixed rules, not by a language model;
it works in eight languages and keeps working without a signal after the first visit.
It is free, has no ads, needs no account, and the catalogue of its 517 source documents is public domain.
I would be very grateful for your help with one thing. If you work in a country whose official guidance for parents, or whose national medicines list, is not yet in the catalogue, please point me to it. And if you try it and something is wrong for your setting, I want to know.
