Invitation: global pulse check on health policy and systems research (closes 22 October)

13 October, 2026

Dear HIFA colleagues,

Health policy and systems research (HPSR) is the evidence governments use to decide how to organize, finance and deliver health services. In many countries it has depended on external funding, and the contraction of development assistance is now putting it under strain.

The Alliance for Health Policy and Systems Research, hosted by WHO, is running a short global pulse check to understand what is happening. It asks how HPSR is funded, how well countries can conduct this research and use its results, and how the people working in the field are faring.

So far, we’ve had responses from more than 40 countries – but we’d love to hear from more.

If you work in or around HPSR, please take about 10 minutes to respond by 22 October 2026. It is available in six languages:

English: https://ahpsr.org/pulsecheck-en/
Français : https://ahpsr.org/pulsecheck-fr/
Español: https://ahpsr.org/pulsecheck-es/
中文:https://ahpsr.org/pulsecheck-zh/
العربية: https://ahpsr.org/pulsecheck-ar/
Русский: https://ahpsr.org/pulsecheck-ru/

Please consider sharing with relevant networks, as well.

Many thanks,
Jeff Knezovich
