The Lancet: Commission on Health and Human Rights (11) Genocides in Gaza (2)

4 April, 2024

Hello Najeeb and Neil,

I have just read Najeeb's post and the points that he raised. Sadly I missed reading the messages that he referred to as coming from Stewart Britten, Rhona MacDonald, David Southall and Gauri Divan have said in their postings on HIFA. I wish I could read them too. I have also read the 'comment' on Najeeb's post from Neil, Coordinator.

Having read both Najeeb's post and Neil's comment, my view is that we (Hifa and Hifa members) should do what we can to sustain this group's mission for the benefit of all humanity irrespective of creed, race, gender, politics, or any other status. 'All humans are born equal'(M L King)!

Secondly and importantly, if we  (Hifa and Hifa members) being a global organisation, must comment on contemporary global issues, especially the on-going human catastrophe palying out in Gaza, lets be certain to call out any party, all parties, that violates accepted international human rights including the right to health, irrespective of who that violator is. Otherwise, lets not even join the global debate on the particular issue. HIFA must be even-handed and be seen to be so at all times, if it is to get involved on any matter. This is my opinion, even though I wish I can read  what Stewart Britten, Rhona MacDonald, David Southall and Gauri Divan and others have said already.
