The Matriarch of Mental health Advocacy is Gone: Rosalyn Smith Carter (1927-2023)

20 November, 2023

Dear HIFA colleagues and Friends

I am sad to let you know that the Matriarch of mental health advocacy has gone to rest.

Mrs Rosalyn Carter was Co-founder of The Carter Center, a *mental health champion* and a First Lady besides 39th President of the United States of America Jimmy Carter her husband. Her tremendous work for mental health and human rights has contributed in improving the lives of many people in the United States of America and abroad.

*As a mental health advocate*, and clinical psychologist engaged with human development her loss is huge! Nonetheless, I find hope in her legacies and most in the passion and dedication she had to advance Mental Health For All. I feel the need to work even harder and better to make mental health a greater priority for All Everywhere. Matriarch Carter thank you for your work and legacy, Rest Well!
