Non communicable diseases are a large part of the workload of family doctors. Children are increasingly obese and physically inactive due to fears of traffic and roads.

Governments cannot legalise what children eat and attempts to increase rates of taxes on sugar and fast food are resisted by the lobbyists and by civic society. Whose responsibility is shopping, purchasing, when one sits in a doctors surgery dealing with these issues?

I personally lecture 11, 12, and 13 year okds on non communicable diseases, evolution, planetary health, reproductive health. We walk a 46 metre timeline on tbe planet - one million years per centimetre. I am walking thus walk with the local councillors at tbe Village fair in July.

I lobby my MPs about patient access to records, and have for 30 years.

My family contribute a considerable r figure sum to support a school in Kenya and my family have told me to shut up about "Limits to Growth!
