Overstreched Humanitarian System and Climate Crisis (2)

17 April, 2025

Armed conflicts and natural disasters expose many children to violence and

child rights violations.

Worldwide, 47.2 million children had been displaced due to conflict and

violence as of the end of 2023.

Protracted nature of crises can cause chronic adversity for many children,

creating a sense of uncertainty, insecurity and vulnerability.

This situation can result behavioural, emotional problems, mental and

physical issues in long-term.

As you mentioned, humanitarian resources are limited; I would like to

highlight that mental and psychological support for children and families

is even more constrained.

Most of displaced people and children are now in low-income countries.

There are not enough mental health professionals to treat these people. And

not all of them are working trauma focused.

These children are our future. Reducing humanitarian resources at this

critical time is unacceptable.
