Poorvaprabha Patil represents HIFA at the World Health Assembly, 21-30 May 2023

19 May, 2023

Dear HIFA colleagues,

Next week is the World Health Assembly and I delighted to announce that HIFA has an official representative at the event this year: Poorvaprabha Patil.

Poorva is a medical doctor from Kasturba Medical College, Manipal, India. She is a co-moderator of the HIFA forum and she is passionate about emergency medicine, public health and youth advocacy. She will be seeking to raise the visibility of HIFA in general and our collaboration with WHO in particular, including the HIFA global stakeholder consultation on universal access to reliable healthcare information. If she has time I have asked her also to share her observations of the WHA with us on the forum during the event.

On behalf of HIFA I want to thank Poorva for the many hours that she has devoted to HIFA volunteering over the past few years, including two visits to the UK and HIFA presentations in international conferences, culminating in this important trip. Poorva epitomises the generosity, kindness and enthusiasm of many HIFA volunteers who have collectively made such a huge difference to our capacity and our impact.

Best wishes, Neil
