[Re: https://www.hifa.org/dgroups-rss/pubmed-3 ]

To expand on that point a bit, there have been 11 US government shutdowns (https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Government_shutdowns_in_the_United_States ).The previous shutdown in 2018-2019 was under Trump’s first term. This second term is much more contentious and focused on dismantling many parts of the government, as described in Project 2025, the guidebook for the current administration. Many federal workers are furloughed currently, working without pay until the shutdown is over (or until they are fired, which has also been mentioned). How all this might affect PubMed is hard to say, but presumably processing new journal applications for listing and indexing new content would be most likely to be affected (if anything is).

It is difficult to predict what will happen, as has been the case throughout this term. Nevertheless, PubMed has not been on the list for defunding and hopefully that will continue indefinitely.

Best wishes,

Margaret
