Quality health care for children (10)

11 July, 2021

Dear CHIFA colleagues,

Thank you for your contributions to the discussions on Quality health care for children. You can follow the lates messages here: https://www.hifa.org/rss-feeds/10

and contribute your own thoughts by sending email to chifa@dgroups.org

Our sister forum HIFA (general health) has been very busy. We have already exchanged 126 messages about Quality and you can review the discussion here: https://www.hifa.org/rss-feeds/17

This week we enter the second 2-week phase of our 8-week discussion on HIFA and CHIFA, where we shall focus on national level issues in relation to quality health services.

The guiding question is: "From your experience, what might work best to enhance national commitment to quality of care for children? Have you seen any practical solutions that should be shared wider?"

Please do send a brief message to hifa@hifaforums.org to help kickstart the discussion on national aspects of quality health services. You can address ANY aspect of quality of care that you feel is important (the above question is not prescriptive). Feel free to talk, for example, about the situation in your country. In your view, is the quality of health services for children adequate? Where are the biggest gaps? What is being done or should be done to improve quality in your country? It is especially valuable if you can share personal experience.

You may like to review the section on 'National-level activities for improving quality of health services' (pages 11-22) in Quality health services: a planning guide.

https://www.who.int/publications/i/item/9789240011632 Does anything here particularly resonate with you? Feel free to cut and paste short sections of text and send these to HIFA with your comments. We are keen to encourage HIFA members at large to download and read the Guide. The more messages you send the better, as this will encourage others to share their views and will ensure a dynamic global conversation.

With thanks for your support.

Best wishes, Neil
