RIP Barbara Kirsop, a great friend of science in the Global South (3)

1 February, 2022

Thanks to Prof Arunachalam for conveying the very sad news of Barbara Kirsop's passing. I can only echo the sadness felt at the departure of my dear friend Barbara. She was a leader in the struggle to focus interest on the neglected literature of non-industrialised countries. We had numerous discussions on the topic, in writing and in person. She was a positive, enlightened and enlightening spirit, not polemical or political, but highly practical and results-oriented. May she rest in peace...
