Responding to the Impact of the Climate Crisis on Children

In this 4-day meeting, you will learn:

1. How are the changes in climate affecting the health of children in Africa and the world?

2. What interventions can we offer to address climate and health in the clinical setting?

3. What should we be students, trainees, and colleagues about climate and child health?

4. What do policymakers need to know about how climate affects child health?

5. What concrete actions can we take to mitigate our personal and professional carbon footprints.

6. How can we best advocate for a comprehensive response to the Climate Crisis?

This meeting is designed for health professional students and clinicians, including nursing and medical students, trainees, physicians, nurses, allied health practitioners, and others concerned about child health.

Tony Waterston

CHIFA profile: Tony Waterston is a retired consultant paediatrician who worked mainly in the community in Newcastle upon Tyne, UK. He spent 6 years working in Zambia and Zimbabwe and directed the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health Diploma in Palestinian Child Health teaching programme in the occupied Palestinian territories. He was an Editor of the Journal of Tropical Pediatrics and is on the Executive Committee of the International Society for Social Pediatrics. His academic interests are child poverty, advocacy for child health and children's rights.
