South Sudan Medical Journal: Gender-based violence

23 November, 2023

The November 2023 issue of the South Sudan Medical Journal is dedicated to the topic of gender-based violence (GBV) in South Sudan. An article that might be of particular interest to HIFA is our interview with the Executive Director of "Men4Women", a national NGO that recognizes the important role that men and boys can play in preventing GBV and works with them (and women) to promote ‘positive masculinity’ in schools and the community.

They use innovative ways to engage men and boys including a ‘Men-led Cooking Challenge’. They also raise awareness about menstruation through conversations in schools with boys (and girls) while handing out sanitary pads. More information from Data Gordon datagordon@gmail.com.
