Greetings from India.
I am Dr Archana Seahwag (MBBS, DTMPH, MSc International Health), a physician and global public health professional with over 15 years of experience across clinical medicine, epidemiology, health systems, maternal and newborn health, infectious diseases and international health.
My professional experience includes working with the World Health Organization (WHO) Headquarters in Geneva, where I contributed to programmes spanning life-course health, maternal and newborn health, health emergencies, and research and development initiatives. I have also worked with government, academia and international development partners, including on country-level health profiles and public health programmes across multiple countries.
I have a particular interest in the intersection of health information, health literacy, evidence-informed decision-making and equitable access to quality healthcare. My experience across different health systems has reinforced my belief that reliable, accessible and actionable health information is itself an important determinant of health — and that translating evidence into information that people, communities and health workers can understand and use remains a critical global challenge.
I am therefore very pleased to join the HIFA community and look forward to learning from fellow members and contributing to discussions around universal access to reliable healthcare information, health systems strengthening, maternal and newborn health, and the effective translation and dissemination of evidence.
I would also be very interested in exploring potential collaborations with HIFA members and partners where my experience in global public health, WHO programmes, epidemiology and health systems may be useful.
