Supporting livelihoods of caregivers and families caring for a child with disability - a survey (now with amended link)

We are working with caregivers of children with developmental disability in East Africa where poverty is commonly experienced by our carers and families and frequently exacerbated by the loss of income and increased costs of caring for a child with developmental disability. Although livelihood programmes do exist for adults with disability, those focused on carers and families caring for a child with disability appear less common.

We are currently examining the role, approach, and availability of livelihoods support for families with a child with disability. For the purpose of our work, we take livelihood to mean the ability of individuals and families to secure the necessities of life and improve their economic and social situations

We are conducting a survey amongst stakeholders (programme directors and managers through to health professionals, programme facilitators and advocates) involved in programmes targeting children with disability and their caregivers in countries defined as low- and middle-income.

We would be grateful if you could kindly share your experience and expertise by completing our survey found here

It should take no more than 5-10 minutes to complete. Please do also cascade the link onto others that you know that work in the field and may be involved in early child disability work and programmes.

If you prefer to complete and/or cascade a pdf version of the survey, then this is attached [*]. Please send a photo/scan/photocopy of completed paper surveys to eva.loucaides@lshtm.ac.uk<mailto:eva.loucaides@lshtm.ac.uk>

Thank you for supporting this work!

All good wishes
