9 May, 2022

(with thanks to Action for Global Health UK)

The UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office has published its Disability Inclusion and Rights Strategy 2022-2025

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/fcdo-disability-inclusion-and...

The vision: "For people with disabilities everywhere to access and use affordable, accessible, and quality health services throughout their life *so they can make and act on informed decisions about their own health* [my emphasis]. This includes preventive, promotive, curative, rehabilitative and palliative health services, as well as sexual and reproductive health and rights services and assistive technology provision"

Comment (NPW): HIFA looks forward to explore *how* to better address the healthcare information needs of people with disabilities, and those who are responsible for their care. This could focus on a specific disability. We invite relevant organisations (especially HIFA supporting organisations https://www.hifa.org/support/supporting-organisations ) to contact us to explore options. Contact: neil@hifa.org

Best wishes, Neil
