Future-proofing child and adolescent health in Europe and Central Asia by WHO and UNICEF
I joined the first with a colleague from Russia. The webinar is one of a series of three. The second webinar will be on July 10th and the third will be on the 16th of September.
This first very informative webinar covered the loss of gains in mortality reduction, increase in measles (a canary in the coalmine of vaccination), scientific evidence for the importance of breastfeeding in the hour after delivery, childhood obesity, overlong school closures during covid, screen time, social media and WHO guidelines, reduction in the quality of mental health in adolescents, the disparity of ages of access to contraceptive services and criminal liability, mental capacity as a determinant of children’s autonomy, and refugee children and asylum (9 million displaced children in Europe and Central Asia.
