What can be learned from the meeting September 28, 2021: Advocating for UHC:
A New Toolkit for Civil Society?
People from every corner of the world speak up for UHC: leave no one behind.
HIFA and CHIFA members could work towards a universal applicable structure
to deliver reliable digital healthcare information and support the public
and health workers to create pathways in each health system. Think of the
least you can do bridge the gap between people living in high and low
economies, disabled and abled people, people in rural areas and cities,
children, woman, man and sexually different oriented.
Short report of the meeting: Civil society organisations (CSOs) are playing
a critical role in building a strong equity-focused and people-led movement
implementation of Universal Health Coverage (UHC). On September 28th Civil
Society Engagement Mechanism (CSEM) introduced a new toolkit for CSO's to
get engaged in advocating for UHC. The toolkit is built with and for people
who are not normally involved in influencing platforms. Civil societies
tested the draft toolkit. Participants from all over the world joined the
introducing webinar.
People with a different sexual orientation are still criminalized and
therefor excluded from health insurance. The Red Cross reaches a network of
community health workers engaged grass roots health care. The Red Cross
advises all national health systems to create pathways to ensure the UHC in
the system. Woman and girls with disabilities want health care what is good
for them, not what other people think is good for them. An Asian-Pacific
region network has experience with HIV, TB and Malaria. Everyone can be an
advocate for the UHC.
How can digital health support and harmonize UHC? UHC2030 is open to all
civil society representatives active in high-, middle- and lower economy
countries. There is involvement philanthropic organisations, WHO, etc, each
in their own way. Digital health is progressing at an amazing positive way.
UHC2030 welcomes suggestion for innovative solutions to reach UHC.
CSEM hopes to receive feedback on the launched toolkit:
