Universal Medical Esperanto-Association

12 December, 2022

Dear colleagues,

the Universal Medical Esperanto-Association (UMEA), association of Esperanto-speaking physicians, has created trilingual texts with typical basic dialogues between doctors and patients to facilitate the medical care for Ukrainian refugees in Europe and elsewhere. The dialogues were taken from the book „Ärztlicher Dolmetscher“ („Medical Interpreter“) by Gert and Uta Hoyer (https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-662-48739-6 <https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-662-48739-6>). While the languages in the current edition of the book are protected by copyright of the publisher, the authors granted to UMEA the permission to use the Esperanto-version of the text, which was only included in former editions published by another company, which does not exist anymore. The already available versions include Esperanto-Ukrainian as basis, with translations to either the Slovak language or Portuguese so far. Other versions will follow. The texts can be downloaded from the UMEA-hompage for free: http://umea.fontoj.net/projektoj/ <http://umea.fontoj.net/projektoj/>.

Kind regards,

Christoph Klawe

on behalf of the UMEA
