University of Minessota: Vaccine skepticism now the norm for many Americans

16 April, 2026

From the university webstie: https://www.cidrap.umn.edu/public-health/vaccine-skepticism-now-norm-man...

Extract: '49% of Republican voters said the return of vaccine-preventable diseases was a price worth paying for the ability to refuse vaccines.'

COMMENT (NPW): This is astonishing and suggests a lack of understanding about the morbidity and mortality caused by vaccine-preventable diseases. What can be done if anything to support their understanding? Or will they remain complacent until perhaps someone in their family or a close friend dies because they refused a vaccine?
