Community Health Worker Voices on UHC

Description

Universal Health Coverage (UHC) cannot be reached without community health workers (CHWs) delivering quality health care and services for the hardest-to-reach communities. Countries are adopting and implementing UHC policies in an effort to improve the health outcomes of their most vulnerable populations. Many are also making commitments to support CHWs as formal members of the workforce and provide necessary training, supervision, and payment to allow them to deliver quality PHC services to their communities. But what does this look like in action on the ground?

This event - the first of a series of quarterly CHW dialogues - will bring together CHWs from across sub-Saharan Africa in a knowledge-sharing conversation on what UHC looks like to them, how new policies have impacted their day-to-day work and the impact COVID on their ability to deliver essential health services.
