Dear Child Health Task Force members,

As you know, we are dealing with an unprecedented pandemic that is threatening the progress made in child health outcomes of the past decade. Even if fewer children are experiencing severe illness from COVID-19, they are not spared from the short- and long-term socio-economic impact.

In keeping with our mission during the COVID-19 pandemic, the Task Force will continue to convene and coordinate stakeholders to share knowledge and innovative solutions to programmatic issues to stem the direct and indirect impact on children. We will collaborate with our partners on collective actions to develop new and adapt existing tools, and work with country partners to translate emerging evidence in order to ensure that essential child health services continue during and after the pandemic.

Beginning on April 23, 2020, we will hold biweekly webinars aimed at updating partners about the pandemic and how countries (with support from partners) are addressing the needs of children, including how they are and can adapt service delivery approaches in order to maintain access to essential routine child health services during and after the pandemic.

Subsequent webinars will feature Ministries of Health, WHO/UNICEF, and partner organizations to inform and learn from one another about effective approaches adopted in different countries, and share tools and resources. We will also be announcing needs expressed by countries that Task Force members can support.

In addition to the webinars, we are curating resources on child health and COVID-19 that you can access here.
