WHO Africa Region: Strengthening the use of evidence, information and research for policy-making (3) The role of personal health data to support national policy direction

6 October, 2024

We frequently discussed national personal health data sharing at a UK national level ehealth conference at the end of September. Consent to sharing of data for analysis to support national policy direction and implementation is a dynamic and changing model.

Citizens' understanding of, and culture of national personal health data sharing, has increased remarkably during and after covid.

The ability for patients to see their data and results easily has enhanced their understanding of how the data might be used nationally to create knowledge and to inform policy decisions and implementation.
