Blog: My quality improvement journey - challenges encountered and lessons learned
Andrew Likaka is currently working as a consultant for WHO providing technical support to the Seychelles. He was former Director of Quality Management and Digital Health as well as a Medical Director at the Malawi Blood Transfusion Service, Malawi.
I started my professional career as a Medical Officer in 2006 at Kamuzu Central Hospital in Lilongwe, Malawi, with some direct roles providing care to patients. Working in the Ministry of Health in the country for 18 years has seen me taking up different positions at district, sub-national and national level, working as a District Medical Officer, District Health Officer and Director of Quality Management and Digital Health, later seconded to the Malawi Blood Transfusion Services as Medical Director.
