WHO: Injuries and violence are causing 1 in 12 deaths (4)

2 December, 2022

Thank you Neil.

English is not my first language so I'm not the right person to solve this issue. However, I think crash, collision, or injury could be used as the last name of "road traffic" events. All but accidents.

On another note, the BMJ has banned the word "accident" from their articles: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC1120417/?report=reader

We have a huge issue of misscomunication in health and that's why HIFA is so important.

Things like "natural dissaster" or "working accidents" are few of the things that are demonstrated that are not natural (i.e., we cause global warming or alter the landscape and this causes dissasters ergo they are not naturals), or not accidents (as those events while working are preventable) but we still refer to them in those ways.

Spreading the word and changing the way we express about these issues is also a part of the solution.

Greetings!
