WHO news release: WHO launches first ever global report on infection prevention and control (2)

9 May, 2022

Neil thanks for sharing this important Report from the WHO.

It is not surprising but depressing to read, that : 'Indeed, little improvement was seen between 2018and 2021 in the implementation of IPC national programmes in low-income countries, despite increased attention being paid generally to IPC due to the COVID-19 pandemic.'  Even with the wake-up call to the whole world from the deadly and devastating Covid-19 Pandemic.

It is nice to read that 'WHO is calling on all countries around the globe to increase their investment in IPC programmes to ensure quality of care and patient and health workers’safety.'. Lets hope that the LMICs shall take heed, because progress here (IPC) benefits all: leaders, followers, whether women, children or men, able or disabled!!
