*WHO Together for Science and Health (7) WHO-HIFA collaboration (2)

5 November, 2026

Dear HIFA colleagues,

WHO is launching its new global initiative, Together for Science and Health, with a 1-hour online event on 10 November 2026, at 13:30 Geneva time (CET)

You can register here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfi47EZo21KvAULQXuAuOOhwqcdSiP_...

The initiative is described as 'a global movement to ensure that science is inclusive, trusted and accessible and serves society to advance Health for All'

It aims to bring all stakeholders together to build trust in science, improve access to evidence, address misinformation and ensure that evidence translates into better health.

There are clearly strong parallels with HIFA's longstanding mission to promote universal access to reliable healthcare information.

We see this as an important opportunity for HIFA to strengthen our ongoing collaboration with WHO and we have submitted an expression of interest to collaborate.

Over the coming days we would like to open a discussion here on HIFA. We particularly welcome your thoughts on one key question:

***How can HIFA, with its global community of 20,000 members in 180 countries and its experience of strengthening the global evidence ecosystem, contribute to this new WHO initiative? What practical activities could we undertake in collaboration with WHO?***

We look forward to hearing your ideas and suggestions. Please email hifa@hifaforums.org

With thanks and best wishes,

Neil
