World Breastfeeding Week 2020 - starts 1 August [5]

3 August, 2020

Dear colleagues,

In response to Neil's post for World Breastfeeding Week, we'd like to let you know that our breastfeeding videos can play a unique role in WHO and UNICEF’s call for better access to breastfeeding counseling. In fact, our videos for health workers were specifically designed to help them better counsel mothers. The videos, with carefully filmed close-ups and angles, teach health workers how to see the key elements of breastfeeding: is the latch effective? is the baby swallowing? is the position optimal for the mother and baby?

These unique high-quality breastfeeding videos are used worldwide — including North America, Europe, and Australia — to help health workers learn the basics of breastfeeding support to guide mothers. Please click: (https://bit.ly/ghmp71)

A set of videos for mothers shows them best practices in a way that is easy to understand and follow. To give mothers easy access to these videos, we created a new smartphone app (Birth & Beyond) which is free from Apple’s App Store. An Android version is coming soon.

Global Health Media breastfeeding videos are now available in over 40 languages.

Kind regards,

Deb
