Dear Neil
As breast feeding is very important for babies, we had done small QI project to look for breast feeding within 1 hour of birth in babies born by C-section. Initially it was just 30% but with the QI project we were able to increase within 3 months to 80% and now almost 994-96% of theses babies are breast feed within 1 hour as it has become institute policy and as a part of the care.
It is important to start breast feeding within 1 hour of delivery but there are many practical issues which we can deal with simple QI projects and improve breast feeding in our hospitals.
