Hello,
I conducted a similar initiative, focusing on informing the community, as that is where the patients are located. Each week, we select a theme related to chronic diseases; we explain the condition, outline the symptoms, and advise on the appropriate course of action. We decided to separate the women’s and men’s groups to ensure greater comfort. We began with the women’s group, but once we have more resources, we will launch a similar program for the men.
Observations:
- Women ask many questions because they want to be better informed.
- We have found that information which seems like common, obvious knowledge is not necessarily so for these women.
- The women share what they have learned with their families.
- Our activities generate a high demand for consultations: people (both men and women) now approach us with various medical issues to seek advice and guidance.
- Our community is growing day by day, and trust is steadily strengthening.
We believe this is a wonderful initiative that is highly beneficial to our communities.
