TDR, the Special Programme for Research and Training in Tropical Diseases, is a global programme of scientific collaboration that helps facilitate, support and influence efforts to combat diseases of poverty. It is hosted at the World Health Organization (WHO), and is sponsored by the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), the World Bank and WHO.
PAHO is the specialized international health agency for the Americas. It works with countries throughout the region to improve and protect people's health. PAHO engages in technical cooperation with its member countries to fight communicable and noncommunicable diseases and their causes, to strengthen health systems, and to respond to emergencies and disasters.
The WHO Regional Office for Africa (AFRO) Health Sciences Library and Documentation Centre collects, organizes and disseminates medical and health-related literature to respond to the information requests of the Regional office and field staff, other United Nations institutions and international organizations, as well as researchers from Member States of the WHO African Region.
