Edward Kakooza

MakCHS

Edward Kakooza is an Information Communications Technology (ICT) Specialist, aspiring to be a Digital Health Expert. I have over 10 Years’ experience in the field of ICT. I have for the past years been supporting Researchers and Research Administrators at Makerere University College of Health Sciences (MakCHS) to enhance research activities through use of Information Communications Technology. Currently working as an IT Officer at MakCHS, also serving in the same capacity for the Research Training and Mentoring Program for Career Development (NURTURE) of Faculty at MakCHS, Pulmonary Complications of AIDS Research Training (PART) Program and the Health Professions Education and Training for Strengthening the Health System and Services in Uganda (HEPI-SHSSU) Program. Edward holds a Diploma in Computer Science and Information Technology from Kampala University and a Bachelor is in Information Technology from Makerere University and is now pursuing a Master’s of Science in Information Systems at the same institution. My research interests include Digital Health, eHealth, mHealth, eLearning, Global Health, Telemedicine, access and use of health information by health workers. Am the coordinator the Open Deliver demonstration project, aimed at improving access to digital health resources for Health Workers in Uganda.
