Michelle Janse van Rensburg is an occupational therapist with a master's degree in Public Health and a PhD in Family Medicine (her research evaluated community health worker education in South Africa). She is currently a senior researcher at the Community Oriented Primary Care (COPC) Research Unit at the University of Pretoria, South Africa. Her professional- and research interests include community health worker education and training, understanding the functioning of people who use drugs in a community oriented harm reduction programme, and pathways out of homelessness. Michelle is a 2016 Sub-Saharan Africa-FAIMER Regional Institute (SAFRI) Fellow in Health Science Education and is committed to interdisciplinary collaborative education, research and practice.
