The Kenya Association for the Prevention of Tuberculosis and Lung Diseases (KAPTLD) is a quasi-professional, non-profit, reference organization whose mission is to improve lung health in Kenya and beyond, through partnership, advocacy, research, innovation, education, training and technical support. Headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya and working in partnership with the Division of Leprosy, Tuberculosis and Lung Disease (DLTLD) of Ministry of Public Health and Sanitation, KAPTLD has over 55 staff members and offices in 4 regions. Known internationally for its world acclaimed successful implementation of the Public Private Mix (PPM) model for TB control, currently being replicated by other countries, KAPTLD areas of interest and engagement include; Tuberculosis Care and Control, Asthma, Acute community acquired respiratory infections in children and adults including Viral pneumonia (Influenza, SARS), Tobacco related lung diseases (COPD & Lung Cancer), Occupational lung disease and Environmental health (Climate change and lung health, Air pollution and lung health) and Workplace wellness program.
