Effect of US government action on health information (13) UK aid spending cut (2)

26 February, 2025

Dear Neil,

cutting funding for children's aid is unfair because it harms the most vulnerable, weakens global stability, and contradicts humanitarian commitments. Aid programs provide essential food, healthcare, and education, helping to break cycles of poverty and reduce future crises. Redirecting these funds to defence is a false economy - reducing aid can increase instability, conflict, and forced migration, ultimately making the world less safe. It also damages global reputation and influence. True security comes not just from military strength but from addressing the root causes of instability through sustained humanitarian support.
