HIFA & global health CoPs

5 December, 2025

Dear HIFA colleagues,

We have launched a new page on our website: HIFA and global health CoPs: https://www.hifa.org/about-hifa/hifa-global-health-cops

HIFA is a leading example of a global health community of practice (CoP) with 20,000 members in 180 countries, interacting on 5 forums in 4 languages: HIFA, CHIFA (child health), HIFA-French, HIFA-Portuguese, HIFA-Spanish

We believe that global health CoPs are stronger together, working in collaboration. Below are some examples of CoPs that we connect with 24/7 and we encourage you to join any that are in your area of interest.

AEN: The Africa Evidence Network is the largest Africa-focused evidence-informed decision-making network. It was established in 2012 as a broad pan-African community, which now has grown to over 5000 members. The Network is open to all who live and work on the continent. Its strategic goals are to: foster collaboration among those engaged in or supporting evidence-informed decision-making (EIDM) in Africa, increase knowledge and understanding of EIDM, share capacities across the EIDM ecosystem, improve the enabling context by promoting EIDM in Africa, and advocate for Africa’s full voice and participation in the national, regional, and global movements to increase EIDM.

Evidence based health (EBH) is the integration of individual knowledge with the best available external evidence from systematic research in making decisions about health care. This list is for teachers and practitioners in EBHC to communicate with colleagues, announce meetings and courses, stimulate discussion, air controversies and aid the implementation of EBH.
