International Day for Universal Access to Information, 28 September

27 September, 2023

A Resolution adopted by the UN General Assembly in 2019 noted: 'Recalling that the right to seek, receive and impart information is an integral part of the right to freedom of expression... Proclaims 28 September as the International Day for Universal Access to Information'.

You can register to attend an Oxford conference to mark this occasion, remotely tomorrow 28 September: https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_WGITS_ktSHGcqsP84RedQw#/regi...

The celebration will centre around the theme of "the importance of the online space for access to information."

The event is moderated by James Deane, Co-founder of, and consultant to, the International Fund for Public Interest Media and former Director of Policy and Learning, BBC Media Action (UK).

Everyone has the right to seek, receive and impart information - including and especially the information they need to protect their own health and the health of others

Best wishes, Neil
