Hi Brendon,
I liked your suggestion that we could look at the challenges created by informal mobile phone use as the outcome of "interrelated and systemic causes”.
In the HIFA discussions and in the discussions we’ve had in other fora, people have been asked to suggest strategies that help address some of these challenges. It’s interesting to see how the proposed strategies target quite different levels or domains. For instance, some people have been proposing strategies that focus on strengthening the system, such as the distribution of work phones or the development of better communication systems, whereas other strategies target the behaviour of individual healthcare workers, such as the development of guidance or policies that they are expected to follow.
It might make sense to organise these proposed strategies according to the CFIR framework domains, or at least some of them, and also to consider their interrelatedness. Obviously, we can’t simply introduce policies that healthcare workers have to follow if we don’t support their ability to do so by health system interventions. We look forward to thinking through this some more and welcome your comments!
All the best, Claire
