Represent HIFA at the BMJ Research Forum on December 8th and 9th

27 November, 2022

We're really pleased to have HIFA as one of the partners on the inaugural BMJ Research Forum (bmjresearchforum.bmj.com) which is taking place on the 8th and 9th December at BMA House, London.

This new annual conference aims to help drive real-world impact from health research. Speakers include the Editor-in-Chief of The BMJ, Kamran Abbasi; England’s Chief Medical Officer Chris Whitty; COO of the Wellcome LEAP initiative Ken Gabriel; Vice Chancellor of Birmingham University Adam Tickell and 30+ other global experts.

The programme (viewable here https://bmjresearchforum.bmj.com/view-the-programme/ ) includes addressing the inequalities in research; the evolving collaboration models in science; research conduct and culture; maximising the real-world impact of research and the changing models of journal publication. We’ll also be joined by editors and editorial board members from across BMJ journals for a networking reception.

As a partner, HIFA has a small number of complimentary places for members. Travel and accommodation are not included so it is likely only to be of interest to UK-based HIFA members. If you would like to attend and represent HIFA please send an email to Neil Pakenham-Walsh [neil@hifa.org] and Ashley McKimm [amckimm@bmj.com] along with a note about why you would like to attend.

In addition to the complimentary tickets, all HIFA members and representatives of HIFA's 400+ supporting organisations [https://www.hifa.org/support/supporting-organisations] are entitled to a 50% discount on registrations using the code RESEARCH50. This is the first BMJ Research Forum and we're aiming to extend access to the event for a wider global audience next time so we would welcome feedback from any HIFA members attending.
